PURPOSE:To prevent the slippage of an edger roll with its buckling limit being high by having a pressing roll arranged at the center position of an edger roll and two sets of the upper and lower pressing rolls having the shaft center in the range of the specified distance at the inlet side from the center line. CONSTITUTION:A pair of the upper and lower pressing rolls 3 having the shaft center on the line connecting the center of edger rolls 2A, 2B and at the center position of the edger rolls 2A, 2B are arranged between the opposing edger rolls 2A, 2B of a vertical rolling mill. two pairs of upper and lower pressing rolls 4A, 4B having the shaft center adjustably in the range of 50-300mm at the inlet side of the edger roller from the center line are provided on the specified position from both side fixed parts of a stock 1 to be rolled. The work roll 5 of a horizontal rolling mill is driven by a motor, etc., and a pinch roll 6 feeds out until the stock 1 to be rolled is bitten into the horizontal rolling mill 5. Since a large width rolling reduction is taken with a high buckling limit without causing a slippage on a thin slab the quality and yield can be improved. |
