PURPOSE:To prevent the double insertion of sheets regardless of humidity, by roughening at least part of both the front and rear faces of a thermal transfer sheet. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer sheet having a substrate sheet 1 and an accepting layer 2 accepting a dye transferred from a thermal transferring sheet by heating, at least part of the front and rear faces thereof is formed as a roughened area 3. The roughened area is composed of an ink coated part 4 and an uncoated part 5 forming in irregular surface and is patterned so that the coated part and the uncoated part can make island-form irregularities. If the ink coated part is formed on the front face, the coated part 4 is preferably formed in a non-image area free from the accepting layer. It is the most preferable that the roughened area is formed all over the rear face. In this manner, an adhesion between sheets is prevented, which eliminates the possibility of double sheet insertion. |
