The gatling gun comprises a housing having a longitudinal axis and a rotor journalled for clockwise and counterclockwise rotation about the longitudinal axis and a gun bolt carried by the rotor and having a firing pin and a cocking pin coupled to it. Firing and safety cams are coupled to the housing. The cam includes two independently operated arms and a safety gate and a control to operate the safety gate as a function of the respective dispositions of the two cams.
