PURPOSE:To secure the connection of paper, by providing a unit which pushes the rear edge of preceding wound paper on the previously pasted front edge of succeeding wound paper to connect them to each other, a web storage unit, etc. and by temporarily stopping the paper at a paper connecting section during the feeding of the paper to a next process to connect the paper edges to each other. CONSTITUTION:Rolls of wound paper R1, R2 are supported on both the ends of a paper feed arm 56. When the diameter of the upper roll of paper R1 being delivered through a web storage unit 3 has become a prescribed value, a shaft 52 is turned clockwise by a motor so that the roll of paper R1 is put in a lower position as shown in the drawing. The front edge of the wound paper R2 is previously pasted and opposed to the brush 75 of an automatic paper connector 73 turned to a position as shown by a full line in the drawing. At the prescribed diameter of the wound paper R1, its rotation is stopped by the action of an electromagnetic brake and the brush 75 is pushed on the sheets of paper R1, R2 to connect them to each other. |
