<p>PURPOSE:To improve the current efficiency of the title electrolyzer by arranging a perforated-plate cathode in the direction vertical to the liq. flow and a honeycomb cathode plate in parallel to the flow, and allowing an anode to pierce the perforated-plate cathode in the countercurrent extractive electrolyzer free of a diaphragm. CONSTITUTION:In the countercurrent extractive electrolyzer composed of a cathode and an anode without using a diaphragm, the perforated-plate cathode 1 is arranged in the direction vertical to the liq. flow, the honeycomb auxiliary electrode 3 is arranged in the direction parallel to the liq. flow, and the anode 2 is arranged and allowed to pierce the perforated-plate cathode 1 at each honeycomb chamber. Consequently, the current density at the part of the perforated-plate cathode 1 closest to the anode rod 2 is reduced, and the current density distribution (a) is on the perforated-plate cathode 1 is flattened. In addition, when the distance between the perforated-plate cathodes 1 is denoted by (d) and the face-to-face dimension of the honeycomb by (l), d/2<l<3d/2 must be fulfilled.</p> |
