METAL GASKET AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To prevent a surface treating agent layer from mixing into a cooling water by removing the coating layer over an area which includes cooling water ports of a metallic gasket by a jet of ultra-high pressure water. CONSTITUTION:A sub plate 13 composing a metal gasket 10 and two main plates 11, 12 sandwiching it are respectively coated with a surface treating agent to make coating layers 15. A coating layer over an area 21 which includes cooling water ports 17 of the gasket 10 is removed by a jet of ultra-high pressure water. As a result, the surface treating agent removed into the cooling water is prevented from mixing thereinto.
