n the formation of grass mats, a number of plates are placed on the ground. Seed followed by earth is planted in the holes and the grass takes root, eventually covering the whole plate which acts as a reinforcement, providing considerable wear strength. - The ground plates, made e.g. from rubber material obtained from scrap vehicle tyres, can also be used for timber sapling planting, in which case smaller plates are employed, provided with a central hole and with notches which allow the plates to expand. They can be pushed away when the plants grow. |
