This device, intended for individuals seated in the front seats of a motor vehicle, consists of a cushion 1, of substantially parallelepipedal shape with rectangular vertical straight section, and is intended to be installed, with slight elastic forcing, in the space which exists between the two front seats of the vehicle. The cushion preferably has, on these two lateral sides, a depression 11 in order to be able to house therein the element articulating the backrest of the adjoining front seat and, on its front face, a vertical slit 13 which is open downwards and is of a height which decreases from the front face to the rear face in order to be able to house therein the handbrake lever. <IMAGE>
