摘要 PURPOSE:To raise the utilization factor of a cell active material as well as to improve the extent of energy density in a cell by installing such a spot that is of low temperature as compared with a cell reaction part in the Na-X cell. CONSTITUTION:An anode active material 2 consisting of sodium is charged to the inside of a solid electrolytic tube 1 and cathode active material 3 consisting of S and NaCl.AlCl3 to the outside, respectively. The upper part of a cell comes to a hot cell reaction part, and the bottom part forms a low temperature part. The cell reaction part is controlled to 200 deg.C and the low temperature part to 155 deg.C, respectively. At the time of discharge starting, the solid phase of AlCl3 exists in the low temperature part, and the cell reaction part is in density of 70% AlCl3. When discharge goes forward, the density of AlCl3 goes down, and the AlCl3 density in the reaction part is less than 67% AlCl3 or a saturation density of 155 deg.C, the solid AlCl3 of the low tempera ture part is dissolved to raise the AlCl3 density of the reaction part up to 67%. This process is repeated and thus a discharge reaction is maintained.
