PURPOSE:To enable proper holding of reciprocating movement orientation of a piston in a cylinder, by a method wherein rotational movement is independently transmitted to two crank shafts through two connecting rods. CONSTITUTION:Two crank shafts 5 and 5 are linked at shaft ends with each other through synchronizing gears G and G, and are reversed to each other in a ratio of 1:1. Crank pins 10 and 10 of the crank shafts 5 and 5 are linked to a piston pin 7 through respective connecting rods 6 and 6. The small ends of the connecting rods 6 and 6 are joined together through the single piston pin 7. This constitution enables reduction of a slap and a side hose approximately to zero and therefore, and enables decrease of the generation of friction, vibration, and noise in a range of ordinary engine machining accuracy. Further, since balance weights 9 and 9 having reciprocating weight are disposed on the crank shafts 5 and 5 in reversed rotation to each other, complete balance is attained, and the generation of vibration can be reduced. |
