PURPOSE:To sufficiently lower the coefft. of friction of a magnetic layer so as to improve the traveling property and heat resistance thereof by incorporating a specific compd. into the magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic layer formed by incorporating the compd. having the structural unit expressed by formula I is provided to this recording medium. In formula I, R1, R2 are H or alkyl group. Namely, the skeleton of this structural unit is rigid and, therefore, the rigidity of the magnetic layer is sufficiently improved if this kind of the compd. is incorporated into the magnetic layer. In addition, the rigidity is further improved by Br bonded to this skeleton. The coefft. of friction is thereby sufficiently lowered and the heat resistance is improved. |
