This lightning-conductor installation, of the type including a lightning rod 3 connected to earth potential and means 1, 2 adapted so as to take up the air potential, is characterised in that the lightning rod 3 is hollow and in that an electrical conductor 6 connected to the means 1, 2 raised to the air potential is placed inside this rod 3 and emerges near the end of the latter, this conductor being electrically insulated from the rod, so as to cause break-down phenomena between this conductor and the rod, at the end of the latter. <IMAGE>
