A percussion apparatus (1), operated by a pressure medium, for fasteners (12) has a withdrawal valve (44) for the pressure medium and a percussion member (6), by which the valve (44) can be opened via the actuating pin (42). The percussion member (6) is accelerated by a spring (38) which is tensioned by a rearward movement of the percussion member (6). This movement is transmitted by a detent pawl (31) and an angle lever (28) from the trigger detent (22) to the percussion member (6). A roller (36) on an adjustable slide (35) causes the release of the detent pawl (31) and thus determines the percussive force of the apparatus. The percussive force can be set precisely with the aid of the slide (35). <IMAGE>
