<p>A spool valve (40) is located within the hermetic compressor shell and is connected to the compressor discharge via a pipe (19). The valve members (44,46,48) are movably located in a bore (49) and are actuated by the compressor fluid directed by a solenoid valve (30) and a return spring (56). As the valve member shifts its position, the compressor fluid is directed to either of the lines (20 or 22) as required in the heat pump or cooling modes. The fluid return to the compressor suction chamber is via the not selected line and ports (15,53).</p> |
