PURPOSE:To enhance the anti-wear property of a printing wire, by forming a thin layer comprising one kind or more SiC, TiC or the like on the surface of a W or a W-alloy wire through an intermediate layer comprising one kind or more BN, AlN, Si3N4 or the like. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate layer 4 with a thickness of 0.5-5mum comprising one kind or more nitride selected from BN, AlN, Si3N4, TiN and VN is formed on the surface of a wire 1 comprising W or a w-alloy. Subsequently, a thin layer 2 with a thickness of 5-50mum comprising one kind or more carbide selected from SiC, TiC, B4C and WC is formed on the intermediate layer 2 to obtain the printing wire of a dot printer. The intermediate layer 4 and the thin layer 2 can be formed by a plasma spray method, an electroplating method or a gas phase plating method. Because the obtained printing wire has the thin layer formed through the intermediate layer, close adhesiveness and anti-wear property are enhanced. |
