Stair-climbing wheel-chair

In order to create a stair-climbing wheel-chair in which the position of the wheel-chair driver relative to the surrounding horizontal remains virtually unchanged, in particular, even if the wheel-chair drives from level ground upwards or downwards via stairs, and in order to permit transportation or driving without jerks and a sliding change of the position of the wheel-chair frame, a wheel-chair with a frame carrying a seat unit and with a combined running wheel and track chassis and an operating handle arranged on the frame has been proposed, and in this wheel-chair two rear idling wheels (24, 25) and two front driving wheels (26, 27) are arranged on the frame, each driving wheel (26, 27) being one of two planet wheels of an endless toothed belt track (31) and the second planet wheel (33) of the toothed belt track (31) being arranged on the backrest-carrying member (13), a lifting frame (20) carrying the rear running wheels (24, 25) being arranged on the backrest-carrying member (13).
