The servo drum brake assembly comprises a drum and a primary and second brake shoe assembly, each including an arcuate table, a friction pad is fixed to the arcuate table for frictional engagement of the drum, and a web projecting radially inward from the table. A frame transmits braking torque. A star wheel rotates to vary the distance between the shoe assemblies. - A push rod is in sliding contact with the inside surface of the primary brake shoe arcuate table. The push rod is fixed to the frame at one end and has pawl in engagement with the star wheel at its free end.
