A special connection circuit is used to connect one or more multi-channel connection or junction lines to a switching system with single-channel through-connection in that, in the connection circuit, information of the individual channels on individual lines is fed to the switching network of the switching system. The channels may, for example, be two user data channels and a signalling and data channel. While the information of the two user data channels is transmitted via the switching network, the information of the signalling and data channels is transmitted via a bus system which links the connection circuits to which a common control device is connected.
