Title compds. (I)[X=Cl, Br; R1=alkyl, alkenyl; R2, R3=H, Cl, methylenedioxy, Med; R5=amino, acylamino , useful as a dopamineacceptor inhibitor, were prepd.. Thus, 2-methoxy-4-amino- 5chlorobenzoylimidazole in THF was reacted with 1-benzyl-4aminopipe- ridine in THF for 2hr at room temp. with stirring to give 95% N-(1'- benzyl-4'-piperidyl)-2-methoxy-4-amino-5-chlorobenzamide, which was reacted with malic acid in hot acetone/MeOH with stirring. The reaction mixt. was filtered, cooled and dried to give 90% malic acid N-(1'-benzyl-4'-piperidyl)-2-methoxy-4amino-5-chlorobenzamide.
