Anti-Stokes phosphor, being a ternary compound whose composition lies within the ternary phase diagram A, B, C in which : A denotes a rare-earth fluoride, oxide or mixed oxyfluoride symbolized by the formula Ln F3-alpha O alpha/2 in which : alpha is greater than or equal to 0 and smaller than or equal to 3 Ln denotes : - at least one rare-earth element RE chosen from the group consisting of yttrium, lanthanum, cerium, gadolinium, lutetium and thorium - and ytterbium - and an element L chosen from the group consisting of erbium, holmium and thulium B denotes barium fluoride C denotes calcium fluoride the said compound being denoted in the diagram by the formula (A)a (B)b (C)c in which a, b and c are any positive numbers such that the anti-Stokes luminescence properties of these substances are retained. |
