PURPOSE:To obtain a highly orientated magnetic field hysteretic heat liquid- crystalline polymer, by a method wherein a polymer is heated to a temperature within a range, higher than a temperature whereat the heat liquid-crystalline polymer becomes a high-dimensional structure and lower than a temperature whereat the polymer is decomposed, thereafter, magnetic field is impressed on the polymer at a temperature lower than said temperature range. CONSTITUTION:Many polymers which form liquid crystal when they are heated and molten, such as various polyester, polyazomethine or the like for exampie, are employed as a heat liquid-crystalline polymer. The heat liquid-crystalline polymer is heated and magnetic field is impressed thereon under a condition that the polymer forms liquid crystal to manufacture the title polymer. In this case, the heat liquid-crystalline polymer is heated to a temperature within a range, higher than a temperature whereat said polymer becomes high- dimensional structure and lower than a temperature whereat said polymer is decomposed. When the heat liquid-crystalline polymer is heated to a temperature within a range, described above, and is cooled thereafter, a sufficient magnetic field orientation may be achieved. |
