PURPOSE:To produce a chelate resin having adsorptivity for rare metals, by reacting a nitrile resin and an aqueous hydroxylamine solution. CONSTITUTION:A nitrile resin (A) having a degree of polymerization of 500 or more (e.g., polyacrylonitrile) is reacted with an aqueous hydroxylamine solution (B) in an amount of 0.5-5 equivalents to one equivalent of the nitrile group of the component (A) in the presence of a stabilizer (C) (e.g., thioglycolic acid) for hydroxylamine on the order of 1X10<-2>-10<-4>mol. per mol. of the component (B) at a pH of 9-11 and 40-120 deg.C for 0.1-24hr. |
