<p>PURPOSE:To remove NOX, SOX in good efficiency, by using expanded graphite as an adsorbent of NOX and SOX. CONSTITUTION:Scaly graphite is immersed in high conc. sulfuric acid or nitric acid and, after drying and washing, the impregnated one is heated at 300-500 deg.C to expand the original volume thereof 100-300 times. When an element lightly filled with this expanded graphite is mounted in a chimney in an airtight state to perform operation wherein an exhaust gas is passed through said element, NOX present in said exhaust gas in an amount of about 78ppm and SOX present therein in an amount of about 7ppm are respectively lowered to 1ppm or less. When it is used for about one month, the adsorbing capacity is lowered but restored by washing and drying the same.</p> |
