PURPOSE:To make it possible to form an ink which gives printed character and images of good quality on a recording material and is excellent in storage stability, by using an organic solvent of a specified specific dielectric constant as a liquid dispersing medium in an image recording ink containing a liquid dispersing medium and a crosslinked structure substance for retaining it. CONSTITUTION:This image recording ink is a flowable ink which contains a liquid dispersing medium and a crosslinked structure substance for retaining it and which has an adhesiveness which can be controlled by applying an electric current, wherein said liquid dispersing medium contains an organic solvent of a specific dielectric constant >=15 at 25 deg.C. As said crosslinked structure substance, a hydrophilic polymer, especially, guar gum or polyvinyl alcohol is desirable because it can give a suitable adhesiveness/nonadhesiveness balance. As said organic solvent, a polyalcohol (especially, glycol) or its derivative (e.g., ether or ester) is desirable from the viewpoint of the safety and/or chemical stability of the solvent itself. |
