A pipe joint 1, for connecting a pipe 5 to an opening 10 in a manhole 4, is made from rubber or another elastomeric material and has an inserting portion 1a for insertion into the opening 10 in a sealing manner and a binding portion 13 for receiving the pipe 5. An adjustable band 3 is provided about the binding portion 13 to tightly secure it with respect to the pipe 5. The joint 1 provides stepped portion 12 and a shoulder 14 between the inserting portion 1a and the binding portion 13 to give the joint strength and flexibility so as to accommodate relative movements of the pipe 5 and manhole 4. <IMAGE> |
