PURPOSE: To prevent contents from overflowing onto a sealing member by furnishing a sealing material with a thermoplastic material layer which is secured removably to a closure material and covers the varnish part facing the sealing zone of the container to be sealed. CONSTITUTION: The container to be sealed has a flange 1 surrounding the inlet opening. The interior of the container is covered with a thermoplastic material layer 2, which extends over the flange 1 to form a sealing member 3. A lid 4 has a closure material 5 whose part extending onto a sealing member 3 is furnished with an additional thermoplastic material layer 6 secured removably to the closure material 5 by a varnish 7 of about 10 to 20 μ in thickness. For container sealing, the additional layer 6 of the lid 4 is overlaid on the sealing member 3 and heated together with it. Thus a part of the product reaching the sealing member can be covered up, and the product is sealed completely. |
