发明名称 PRODUCTION OF FIBER REINFORCED CERAMICS
摘要 PURPOSE:To produce the titled ceramics having excellent strength and toughness, by applying electromagnetic force to a slurry containing nonconductive ceramics and electroconductive SiC fiber, molding the ceramics and then sintering the moldings. CONSTITUTION:A mixed raw material of nonconductive ceramics powder (e.g. Al2O3 powder) with 50-60vol.% electroconductive SiC fiber is dispersed to provide slurry 1, which is then poured into an air permeable mold 2 supported by a mold frame 3 and electricity is sent to a coil 8 to magnetize iron core and 100-10,000 gauze line of magnetic force is applied to the direction linking iron core 7a with iron core 7b to orientate SiC fiber in one direction and inside of discharge box 5 is evacuated through a discharge pipe 6 connected to a vacuum pump and a solvent is removed through the mold and air permeable hole 4 to provide the ceramic moldings mixed by nonconductive ceramics powder and electroconductive SiC fiber. Then the moldings are sintered in an inert atmosphere at 1,600-1,800 deg.C.
