PURPOSE:To easily produce a pressure sensitive recording material showing strong absorption of electromagnetic waves in visible to near infrared regions, by using a specified fluoran compound and/or a specified fluorene compound in combination with a semi-synthetic solid acid. CONSTITUTION:A pressure sensitive recording material comprises a normally colorless or light-colored color forming dye of general formula (I) and/or general formula (II) and a semisynthetic solid acid derived from a clay mineral having a layered structure comprising regular tetrahedrons of silica, the solid acid showing a diffraction pattern based on the crystals of the layered structure on electron diffraction but not substantially showing a diffraction pattern based on the crystals of the layered structure on X-ray diffraction, and the solid acid comprising at least silicon acid and magnesium and/or aluminum in addition to oxygen. A pressure sensitive recording material is thus obtained which is capable of forming a color having absorption of electromagnetic waves in visible to near infrared regions of wavelength. |
