A brake hose (200) has an intermediate portion of outer body (100) aligned with a nipple (300) which is beneath the hose inner layer (210). On the outer body is a collar (110) and groove (120) arrangement to apply compressive force to selected points (140,150) on the outer body (100) sleeve (130). The resulting body-hose tight contact forces the hose inner layer into main grooves (350) situated opposite the compression points. Auxiliary grooves (360,370) prevent the nipple and outer body displacement.
