PURPOSE:To attain high speed and large capacity with an optical function device which is on a practicable stage by separating optical signals whose wavelengths are allotted by a wavelength allotting phase converting means into the wavelengths for respective input side optical highway and outputting them to output side optical highway set respectively for each wavelength. CONSTITUTION:The order of the multiplexing of time-division multiplexing optical signals transmitted through input side optical highways 1 are replaced for each time slot by a wavelength allotting phase converting means 2. At this time, since the different wavelengths whose number is equivalent to the number of the input side optical highways are allotted to the optical signals for the respective time slots, they can be distributed to respective output side optical highways 4 for each wavelength by a wavelength gate means. The optical signals distributed to each wavelength are replaced again in the former order of the multiplexing by a phase converting means 5. Thus, compared with a time-division multiplex optical exchanging system to only execute phase conversion, the higher speed and the larger capacity can be attained. |
