PURPOSE:To efficiently carry out electrolysis until a soluble electrode is consumed by allowing a clamping rod to pierce through the respective electrode plates and a poor-conductivity spacer plate between the electrode plates, and providing a specified long penetrating hole for the clamping rod to the electrode plate. CONSTITUTION:Vertical long holes 3 are bored through the center and four corners of the electrode plates 2 arranged in parallel in an electrolytic cell 1, and several electrode plates are clamped by the clamping rod 4. The spacer rod 8 made of an insulating material is provided between the respective electrode plates 2, and the plate 8 is pierced with the clamping rod 4 and vertically moved along with the clamping rod 4. The major axis of the long hole 3 is longer than the sum of the diameter of the plate 8 and the diameter of the clamping rod 4. When the electrode plate 2 is consumed in the electrolyzer, the interval is adjusted by loosening the clamping rods 4 in the right half of the cell, and lowering the rods along the long hole 3. The electrode plates 2 are then pressed to the left by a jack 9 and successively moved to the left, and the interval is adjusted to the thickness of the plate 8. |
