PURPOSE:To realize a high-speed start-up action in a computer system by checking the type of the control part of a magnetic disk device and reading and writing data after checking the presence or absence of a system save file for high-speed start-up use on a magnetic disk medium. CONSTITUTION:A control part recognizing means 1 is provided together with a searching means 2 and an input/output means 3. The means 1 checks the type of the control part of a magnetic disk device 4 and the means 2 checks whether a system save file for high-speed start-up use is set on a magnetic disk medium or not. The means 3 performs the data reading/writing jobs to the magnetic disk medium. Thus it is possible to produce a system save file on another medium and to realize a high-speed start-up action even in case a system resident volume has a small file capacity.
