摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To enable highly accurate measurement, by providing a substance on a reflecting surface to meet a critical angle as light reflecting conditions. CONSTITUTION:Light introduced from a light source with an optical fiber or the like is linearly polarized with a polarizer 3 at an optical path inlet to be incident on a magnetoopic element 2 (2a-2d). Light incident on the element 2 is reflected sequentially from reflecting substances 2' (2a'-2d') on an optical path 8 and totally reflected with a total reflection prism 4 provided within the optical path 8 bending the optical path by 90 deg. to be curved in the direction of 180 deg.. Then, light is totally reflected from the substance 2' in the opposite order to be returned in the perimeter of a conductor 1 and converted into intensity of light proportional to an applied current to be emitted through the polarizer 3 at an optical path outlet. Then, light emitted from the polarizer 3 is detected with a detector. Here, a light linearly polarized by a magnetooptic effect is Farady-rotated within a magnetic field by a current flowing through the conductor and as the rotation thereof is proportional to the applied current, intensity of light proportional to the applied current can be detected by conversion into the intensity of light.</p>
