PURPOSE:To improve the yield of a product and to extend the service life of a coiling drum by arranging heat insulating layer to rear end of a dummy sheet or on surface of the coiling drum and coiling a metal strip while inserting the heat insulating layer between the coiling drum and metal strip. CONSTITUTION:The heat insulating layer (c) is arranged at the rear end of the dummy sheet (a) coiled to the drum (b) proceeding to the metal strip 13 or the heat insulating layer (c) is formed on the surface of the drum (b). At the time of continuously casting and coiling the metal strip 13 by using this coiling drum (b), always the heat insulating layer (c) is inserted between the strip 13 coiled and the peripheral surface of the drum (b). By this method, condition of holding heat in the strip 13 to the coiling drum (b) is restrained. Therefore, the cooling condition of the strip 13 is relaxed and crack and deformation at end part of the strip are prevented. As heat deformation of the drum (b) is restrained, the yield of the product is improved and the service life of the drum (b) is extended. |
