PURPOSE: To obtain a parenteral pharmaceutical composition for remedy of urolithiasis by mixing water-soluble or colloidal water-soluble polymerized alkanecarboxylic acid therein. CONSTITUTION: This pharmaceutical composition contains a compound expressed by the formula [R and R<1> to R<3> are each H, a halogen, a 1-4C alkyl, a 2-4C alkenyl, CN, a 1-5C alkoxycarbonyl, acetoxy, aminocarbonyl, or phenyl or styrene, carboxymethyl, carboxyethyl, a carboxy 2-4C alkenyl or a 3-8C cycloalkyl each capable of having one or two substituting groups (halogen or OH), or the two together form an anhydride group; (m) is 100-2×10<5> ] as an active component. Preferably, an average molecular weight of the polymerized carboxylic acid is 10,000-3,000,000 for a homopolymer and 5,000-3,000,000 for a copolymer. Preferably, a copolymer containing maleic acid or (meth)acrylic acid as a monomer having carboxylic group and ethylene, methyl vinyl ether or methyl methacrylate as a monomer not containing carboxyl group is used.
