PURPOSE:To obtain the titled efficient apparatus, having a brush as an attachment base in a light-transmitting pipe and capable of passing seawater from the lower to the upper parts of the pipe and carrying out adhesion culture and cultivating an extremely large amount of attached diatoms with simple harvesting. CONSTITUTION:A brush 2 having a diameter and length corresponding to the inside diameter and length of a light transmitting pipe 1 is initially provided in the pipe 1 and seawater is passed from the lower to the upper parts to carry out attached cultivation of attached diatoms with the brush 2 which is an attachment base. Furthermore, the attached diatoms are harvested by using, e.g. scraping rings 8 constituted so as to vertically move rods 9 and scrape the diatoms from the brush (2a) with rings (8a). |
