PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material with the improved color tone of a silver image, and the excellent fogging characteristic by incorporating a compd. shown by a specified composition formula in a silver halide emulsion layer or its adjacent layer. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide emulsion layer or its adjacent layer contains at least one of the compd. shown by formula I and at least one of the compd. shown by formula II. In the formulas, M is hydrogen atom, an alkaline metal atom or an ammonium group, or a group capable of forming hydrogen atom or an alkali metal atom in an alkaline condition, Q is an atomic group necessary for forming a 6-membered heterocyclic ring. And, Y is a group shown by formula III, R1, R2...R8 are each hydrogen atom, alkenyl aryl or alkyl group. And, R and R' are each alkylene, alkenylene, aralkylene or arylene group which may be a straight chain or a branched chain. And, in formula II, W is a carboxylic acid or its salt, sulfonic acid or its salt, hydroxyl or alkoxy group, etc. |
