PROCESS FOR PREPARING HYDROTHERMALLY TREATED PRODUCT OF COMPOUND HAVING HYDROTALCITE-LIKE CRYSTAL STRUCTURE

A method comprises (i) reacting (a) iron (II) salt aq. soln. or aq. soln. of iron (II) salt and Mg (II) compd. with (b) Al (III) compd. aq. soln. or aq. soln. of Al (III) compd. and iron (III) salt at pH above 6 esp. 8-12 in the presence of compd. contg. anion An- or not under inert atm. to produce a compd. having hydrotalcite-like crystal structure [of formula (Fe2+, Mg2+)x (Al3+, Fe3+)2(OH)2x+6-nz(An-)z.mH2O, [An-=CO32-, SO42-, OH-, O<=Mg<X, O<=Fe3+<2, 1<=X<20, 0<Z<3, O<=m<20 and (ii) hydrothermally treating at 100-200 deg.C in an aq. media. The prepd. compd. is useful for treating iron deficiency anemia.
