The invention relates to a method for hanging filiform and flexible products on a bar. According to the method, a sequence of loops is formed on the bar 3 by imparting to the free end of the product at 4 a movement in the direction of the axis of the bar. The method is characterised in that the sequence of loops 5, 6, 7 is formed by a periodic displacement of the bar 3, advantageously horizontally, so that the loops are situated alternately on either side of the bar, only being joined by a part of the product which passes over the bar. The invention can be used for hanging strings of sausages. <IMAGE>
