Lamp/lamp-holder assembly characterised in that the cap has, on the end and over its entire front surface, a metal plate 4 and, along its entire lateral surface, two contact-carrying straight-line longitudinal structures 16 and 17 interacting with two equivalent contact-carrying and guiding structures 12 and 13 which are shaped in the lamp-holder or in an adaptor for a conventional lamp-holder along the receiving internal lateral surface, in order simultaneously to orient the lamp and to make the electrical connection. This invention is of interest to the manufacturers of lamps and of lamp-holders. <IMAGE>
