PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium which allows recording, reproducing and rewriting with simple constitution by dividing the optical recording medium to an electromotive force layer and memory layer so that the role of the element necessary for optical recording effect is partially shared and that the energy for selecting and recording the recording part is generated by the electromotive force layer. CONSTITUTION:A lower electrode consisting of an ITO film 1b and an SnO2 film 1c is provided on a transparent glass substrate 1a to form transparent conductive glass 1. The electromotive force layer 2 having the structure of the 2-stage stack solar battery of Pin/Pin consisting of p-type a-SiC and i-type and n-type a-Si films is deposited thereon. A WO3 film 3 exhibiting an electrochromic property is then deposited as the memory layer by evaporation thereon and while the surface thereof is enclosed by a spacer 4, a polyvinyl gel-like material 5 contg. sodium phosphate is filled therein. The surface thereof is covered with a transparent counter electrode 6 consisting of a glass substrate 6b having an ITO film 6a on the rear face. The medium is colored and decolored by constituting the same in such a manner and impressing voltage between the ITO films or short circuiting the films and the recording is thus executed. |
