PURPOSE:To obtain an earth drawing composite metallic strip suitable in using silver glass paste, by using nickel or iron alloy containing nickel to form a core material and next by using an aluminum or aluminum alloy layer to form a lead mounting surface and using a silver or silver alloy surface to compose a conductor thin film contact surface. CONSTITUTION:A rolling foil of nickel or iron alloy containing cobalt is used as a core material. A rolling foil of aluminum alloy containing silicon is piled on an upper side of the core material, and that of silver is piled on a rear side of the core material. A cold pressure welding method is used to form a composite mother material of triple layer structure of aluminum alloy-nickel-contained iron alloy-silver. This mother material is rolled to form a thin plate. A disc is stamped out from this rolling material by means of press processing to manufacture an earth drawing composite metallic strip. This product is installed, with its silver layer part turned downwards, inside a cavity of a CERDIP type IC package coated beforehand with silver glass paste, and next it is heated in a belt furnace to mount the earth drawing composite metallic strip. When a lead conductor of an aluminum alloy wire of 25mum in diameter is used in this product, junction of the lead conductor is so improved between the earth drawing composite metallic strip and the lead frame that a sufficient earth drawing effect can be obtained.
