Inductive proximity detector comprising, in the internal volume of a tubular jacket 2, in particular made of metal, open at its opposite ends 3 and 4: electromagnetic detection means, such as an oscillating circuit 17 arranged at the front end 3 of the jacket 2, a printed circuit 20 placed longitudinally and carrying the necessary components, and a quantity of synthetic curable material 22 immobilising the assembly. Inside the jacket 2 is clamped a case 11, the outer face 13 of whose bottom 12 is placed flush with the front end 3 of the jacket 2, whilst the internal face 19 of this bottom 12 receives the front face of the oscillating circuit 17 which, via an elastic buffer 28, receives the axial thrust of one end of the printed circuit 20, whose opposite end bears on a strut 32.
