The invention relates to a device combining the function of closure and that of gripping of hand luggage. This method makes it impossible to open the luggage during its transportation. This method ensures attenuation of the movements of the luggage with respect to the handle and thus with respect to the user, this being along the three principal axes of rotation. It consists principally of a handle 1 and of a mounting plate 3. For opening, the handle 4 is laid down against the side of the luggage 1 or 2. By virtue of an eccentric integral with 4 and articulated on 10, two studs enter into 3. A rotational movement of 3 with respect to 2 according to 0 is then possible (clockwise or anticlockwise). The latter operation positions the peg 5 opposite an opening made in 3, thus permitting the opening of 1. The various attenuations are obtained by a combination of shapes of the pieces and addition of resilient elements. The device according to the invention is intended particularly for closing and gripping hand luggage. <IMAGE>
