PURPOSE: To improve the compatibility between an input musical sound and displayed image by providing an image display means based upon specific image information and a display control means which changes the contents of image information according to detected chords or the pattern of progression of the chords. CONSTITUTION: This device is equipped with a musical sound generating circuit 3 which generates and outputs a corresponding musical sound according to key information from a keyboard 1, a chord detecting circuit 5 which detects chords in the played musical sound, a key specifying means 7 consisting of switches and others, a control circuit 9, an image memory 9, and a display device 13 consisting of a CRT display. Then, the control circuit 9 displays a predetermined image on the display device 13 according to the image information stored in the image memory 11, but when chord information is inputted from the chord detecting circuit 5, the contents of the display image are changed according to the chord information. Consequently, it can be expected that the image of emotions that music has can accurately be represented not only auditorily, but also visually, and the compatibility between the music and video can be improved more. |
