An arrangement for supplying a main consumer with a hydraulic pressure medium is proposed, which contains a flow switch by means of which, starting from two common driven pumps delivering the pressure medium for the main consumer, the pressure-medium flow of one of the pumps, when the drive speed increases, can be switched out to a direct backflow of the delivered pressure medium to the pressure-medium supply in order to save energy. In this arrangement, when the pressure of the pressure medium continues to increase as a result of further increasing drive speed, either the pump which is not switched out can be additionally connected to a secondary consumer for power dividing or, starting from two pumps with different delivery capacity, the connection between the pump pressure sides and the main consumer on the one side and the pressure-medium supply on the other side can be interchanged.
