The insertion device for coins (M) has a flap (3) which is arranged pivotably in a housing (1) and through which an insertion slot (4) passes. In the pivoted-out state, the insertion slot (4) is open only to the outside and is blocked on the inside. An inserted coin (M) still projects out of the flap (3) to such an extent that it can be extracted again. When the flap (3) pivots inwards, the coin (M) slips deeper onto a ramp (10) and can no longer be grasped. The insertion slot (4) then disappears in the housing, the coin (M) is pushed from the ramp (10) and falls into a channel which leads further. <IMAGE>
