PURPOSE:To obtain a desired bonding strength in a simple manner, by a method wherein, a wire and a wire pin temporarily bonded with each other at a bonding part are subjected to a diffusion treatment so that a metallic carbide is separated out on the surfaces thereof, and a metallic carbide layer is separated out in a fine gap generated in the bonding part. CONSTITUTION:A wire 1 made of an iron or steel material and a wire pin 2 are temporarily bonded with each other to form a printing wire. The printing wire is carburized to increase carbon content, thereafter being subjected to a solid diffusion treatment; in this manner, a metallic carbide (e.g. a chromium carbide) layer is separated out on the surfaces of the wire 1 and the wire pin 2. Simultaneously, a metallic carbide (chromium carbide) layer 5 is also formed in a fine gap 4 generated in a bonding part 3 of the wire 1 to the wire pin 2. As a result, the metallic carbide layer 5 formed in the fine gap 4 can enhance the bonding strength between the wire 1 and the wire pin 2, the metallic carbide layer 5 on the surfaces of the wire 1 and the wire pin 2 can improve the wear resistance of the printing wire, and the printing wire can be made light in weight as a whole. |
