The applicator for individual paper sheets to a printing press includes a feed table (24), provided with a hinged location rail (5) for the leading edge of the paper sheet. A pusher rod (18), which operates the location rail, is linked to a pivot arm (6) on a fixed shaft (9). A second pivot arm (3) on the same shaft is connected to the pivot arm by an e.m. coupling (4). when a position sensor locates a paper sheet that is not correctly positioned on the feed table, a signal is produced which operates the coupling (4) so that the location rail will not release the sheet. ADVANTAGE - Prevents double sheets passing with low blocking force.
