In existing piston accumulators for hydraulic oil, increased leakage losses occur at the piston with increasing charge on account of a widening of the pressure housing. By the arrangement of an accumulator housing which is separate from the pressure housing and in which the piston is displaceably arranged, high pressures do not lead to leakage losses at the piston. The invention can be used in any piston accumulator, in particular piston accumulators with high pressures. <IMAGE>
